E-mail Program Delivers NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 13, 2004 -- Want to know when flu shots will be offered by the health department, or about air pollution alerts, or where mosquito spraying will be conducted? The Metro Public Health Department now offers a free service that will deliver public health information direct to any Davidson County subscriber’s e-mail address. The Health Department is not currently spraying to kill mosquitoes. However, once spraying is necessary, the Health Department will send e-mail subscribers boundary maps of the planned spraying locations each week. “The new e-mail delivery service adds another communications link to notify community members of public health issues,” said Brian Todd, Public Information Officer for the Metro Public Health Department. “With the free e-mail delivery service in place, the Health Department has a complete notification system that is as comprehensive as any of the hundreds of cities that spray to kill mosquitoes,” Todd said. Davidson County residents are encouraged to register by logging on to the Metro Public Health Department’s website (healthweb.nashville.gov) and following the directions after clicking on the “Subscribe For Public Health E-Mail Delivery.”
