Sexually Transmitted DiseasesThe Sexually Transmitted Disease program provides examination and treatment for persons who suspect they have a sexually transmitted disease such as gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia, and herpes. The cost of a voluntary examination is based on family income. However, there is a $10 minimum fee for service. The program also is responsible for contact investigation of syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia cases and partner notification of HIV in order to stop the spread of these diseases. Counseling and testing for HIV is conducted at all Metro Health Department clinic sites at no charge. Testing of contacts is confidential and there is also no charge. The Sexually Transmitted Disease clinic is located at Lentz Public Health Center, Room 116, 311 23rd Avenue, North. Telephone number is 340-5647.
