Vehicle InspectionTest Fees and Questions | Inspection Sites | Holiday Schedule The Vehicle Inspection Program is responsible for the light duty automobile and truck emission testing program in Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County. The program became mandatory January 1, 1985, and is a centralized testing program. Regulations governing the Vehicle Inspection Program can be found at http://healthweb.nashville.gov/env/Air_Quality/AirForms/Reg8Revised.htm. Before a vehicle owner can purchase the Metropolitan wheel tax license, he must show proof that the vehicle has met the allowable emission standards of the Vehicle Inspection Program. All 1975 and newer light duty (10,500# and less GVWR) gas and diesel vehicles must be inspected.
Vehicle Inspection Test Fees and Questions
In Davidson County, the test fee is $9.00 effective July 1, 2007.
NO BILLS LARGER THAN $20.00. In Rutherford, Sumner, Wilson and Williamson County, the test fee is $10.00. CASH ONLY. NO BILLS LARGER THAN $20.00. Currently, the Metro Public Health Department contracts with a private company, SysTech International, to operate the program in Davidson County.
